Epicouple Now Speaks Your Language

Our Biggest Update Yet: English and Slovenian support, a much faster app that shrugs off bad connections, smarter journeys, a new meditation activity, conversation exports, and a long list of fixes.

Published: October 24, 2026

This one is special. We’ve been working on our biggest update so far, and it’s built around three simple ideas: Epicouple should speak your language, feel instant, and keep working even when life — or your connection — gets in the way. Here’s what’s waiting for you and your partner.

English joins Slovenian

Epicouple began in Slovenian, built for the Slovene couples who believed in us before there was much to believe in — thank you. You’re the reason this app exists, and Slovenian isn’t going anywhere.

With this release we take our first real step abroad: Epicouple now speaks English too. It’s a humble beginning for our message to travel further — and it finally lets you share the app with friends and partners who don’t speak Slovenian.

Pick your language on the sign-in screen, and change it any time in Profile Settings; the switch is instant and stays saved with your profile. It defaults to your device’s language on first launch and follows your account after you sign in.

It’s more than menus and buttons. Journey content itself is requested in your chosen language, support links open the matching localized website, and onboarding artwork, conversation dates and the subscription screen all adapt.

One honest note: not every journey has been translated into English yet. Rather than offering something that wouldn’t work for both of you, the app now tells you clearly when a journey isn’t available in your language or your partner’s — including a “waiting for launch” label on journeys scheduled in a missing language. Journeys you’ve already started together can still be paused or finished, and if you start a new journey while another is active, the app explains exactly what will happen to it.

A noticeably faster experience — unbothered by bad connections

The app now keeps your content on your device, so it opens straight to your journeys and profile instead of a loading screen. Your upcoming steps and their cover images quietly prepare in the background — often the moment you touch today’s card — so the next screen simply awaits you, already loaded. Coming back after a while? You go straight in on your saved session while fresh data catches up behind the scenes.

Your actions feel instant, too: starting, completing, skipping or undoing an activity, or sending a conversation answer, shows up right away, and the next step unlocks the moment both of you have finished the current one.

And when the connection drops — a tunnel, a flight, maintenance on our end — the app stays calm. It keeps you signed in, renews expired sessions quietly, retries interrupted actions when you’re back online, and pauses its background fetching while you’re offline. A small notice tells you when you’re looking at saved data, anything that would need to save is disabled with a plain explanation like “Available when you’re back online” instead of failing silently, and open screens refresh on their own once things recover.

Journeys that are easier to discover, follow and finish

We added a new section with currently recommended journeys to the Home screen and the full journeys list — so you won’t miss the ones worth trying. For daily-paced journeys we added a “Today” shortcut that brings you back to today’s step after browsing older or locked cards.

Completed and skipped love challenges are now easy to tell apart at a glance — skipped ones carry a new badge: a minus. If you skip a challenge, it still counts toward finishing the step, so no worries. The minus icon is just a gentle nudge to maybe take that challenge on someday, for each other’s good.

And if you tap the button for completing an activity by accident, you can now undo the action. Unfortunately, this isn’t always possible — for example, once you’ve already completed an activity in the next step.

A new kind of activity: meditation

This release introduces meditations — a brand-new type of activity that brings a deeper, spiritual dimension into your journeys. While reflections invite you to reflect together, meditation invites you to pause and draw close to God. These are moments when you remember that you are His children, and immerse yourselves in your relationship with Him. Some meditations you can listen to, others you read at your own pace.

Because meditations exist only from this release onwards, you’ll both need version 0.2.0 or newer to share them — if the love of your life hasn’t updated yet, it’s a lovely reason to give them a gentle nudge.

Conversations worth keeping — now yours to keep

Your answers to questions are the kind of memories couples treasure — and now you can keep them outside the app too. On the conversations screen you can export them to a file (plain text, CSV or Markdown). Export works even without a connection, using answers already loaded on your device: on iOS the share sheet opens, and on Android you pick a destination folder once and the app remembers it.

Underneath, we fixed syncing between devices — answers and progress now stay consistent when you or your partner use more than one phone or tablet — added a gentle reveal animation when your partner’s answer unlocks, and tidied up a handful of small UI annoyances.

Small moments of satisfaction

We’ve added subtle haptic taps, smoother transitions and animated completion badges throughout the app — along with a few celebratory surprises at big moments that we are absolutely not going to spoil for you or your partner. And all of it respects your settings: with Reduce Motion on, the animations settle into a calmer, simplified experience — and we’ve kept screen readers in mind too.

Smoother from the very first tap

Signing in to the app is friendlier: we flag likely typos in your email address (like me@gmail.con) and suggest a fix. Onboarding was reworked end to end — clearer toggles, a searchable timezone step, as-you-type validation, friendlier guidance for choosing your profile photo, and a clear consent step for the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy with an optional newsletter. Pairing with your partner now comes with clearer instructions — slowly, step by step.

Settings grew up too: a dedicated notification screen lets you turn push notifications on or off, choose the allowed days and the daily time window for notifications to arrive, set separate reminder times for general and journey reminders, see the timezone your schedule follows, and manage your newsletter. Privacy & Security now shows your sign-in history including your last IP address.

Update now

When the update appears on your phone, don’t wait. Update Epicouple in your app store, then tug your partner’s sleeve, step into a journey, and discover what we’ve prepared for you. Thank you for growing with us.

Device compatibility

This release requires iOS 16.4 or newer, and Android 7.0 or newer (API level 24).

These are the build requirements declared in the app configuration for this release.
